The Palm Reserve
Our Story
A sanctuary born from a love of the Thai coast and a belief that true luxury is found in stillness.
Our Origins
Where The Palm Reserve Began
The Palm Reserve was conceived by a family who fell in love with the unspoiled coastline of Pak Nam Pran — a stretch of the Gulf of Thailand that remains largely untouched by mass tourism. What began as a private retreat became a desire to share this rare corner of the world with a select few.
Every detail of the villa was designed with intention: the orientation to capture the morning light, the overwater terrace positioned for sunset, the gardens planted to attract the birds and butterflies native to this stretch of coast. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was accidental.
Today, The Palm Reserve welcomes guests who seek not just a beautiful place to stay, but an experience that is genuinely restorative — where the rhythm of the tides replaces the rhythm of the city.
History
A Decade in the Making
The Palm Reserve did not happen quickly. It was shaped over years — by the land, by the people who know it best, and by a conviction that the finest hospitality is always deeply personal.
The Land is Found
A family searching for a private retreat discovers a rare beachfront plot in Pak Nam Pran — a quiet fishing village on the Prachuap Khiri Khan coast, largely unknown to international travellers.
Award winning Design Begins
Award winning S68 architects of Hua Hin with roots in the region is commissioned. The brief is simple: build something that belongs here. Two years of design work follow, guided by the site's natural orientation, the prevailing breeze, and the arc of the sun.
Construction
Local craftsmen are engaged for every element of the build — from the hand-laid stone terraces to the teak joinery. Materials are sourced within Thailand wherever possible. The process takes longer than planned. It is worth it.
First Guests Arrive
The Palm Reserve opens quietly, by word of mouth only. The first guests are friends of the family. Their response — and their return visits — confirm what the family had hoped: this place is genuinely special.
The Team Takes Shape
After years of hosting, a permanent team is assembled — each member chosen not just for their skills but for their connection to the region. The villa manager, chef, and guest experience lead have all called this stretch of coast home for most of their lives.
Recognised for Excellence
The Palm Reserve is quietly recognised by a handful of luxury travel specialists as one of the finest private villa experiences on the Gulf of Thailand — a distinction the team wears lightly, and works hard to deserve.
Our Philosophy
What We Believe In
01
Unhurried Luxury
We believe the finest experiences cannot be scheduled. Our team is here to facilitate whatever pace feels right for you.
02
Genuine Privacy
The Palm Reserve is a single-villa property. When you are here, the estate is entirely yours — no shared spaces, no other guests.
03
Local Roots
Our team is drawn from the local community. Their knowledge of the region, its food, its culture, and its hidden places is yours to draw on.
04
Considered Design
Every element of the villa — from the architecture to the linens — was chosen with care. We believe beauty in the details makes a stay unforgettable.
Our Team
The People Behind Your Stay
Our small, dedicated team has been with The Palm Reserve since the beginning. Each member brings a depth of local knowledge and a genuine warmth that no amount of training can manufacture.
Villa Manager
Nittaya Gook
Gook has managed The Palm Reserve since its first season. Born in Pranburi, she grew up watching the fishing boats leave at dawn and return at dusk — a rhythm she brings to everything she does. Her instinct for anticipating a guest's needs before they are voiced is, guests often say, uncanny.
Fluent in Thai and English. Fifteen years in luxury hospitality across Koh Samui, Phuket, and the Hua Hin coast before returning home.
Private Chef
Somchai Rattana
Somchai trained in Bangkok before spending a decade cooking in some of Thailand's most celebrated resort kitchens. He returned to his home province to join The Palm Reserve, drawn by the quality of the local produce and the freedom to cook without a menu. Every meal he prepares is shaped by what is freshest that morning.
Specialises in southern Thai cuisine and contemporary interpretations of regional dishes. Available for private cooking classes on request.
Guest Experience Lead
Ploy Charoenwong
Ploy is the person guests turn to when they want to go beyond the villa — to find the market that only locals know, the boat captain who will take them somewhere extraordinary, or the temple that does not appear in any guidebook. Her knowledge of the Prachuap Khiri Khan coast is encyclopaedic and entirely personal.
Coordinates all in-villa experiences, excursions, and special arrangements. Available from arrival to departure.
Location
Pak Nam Pran, Thailand
Located on the Prachuap Khiri Khan coast, Pak Nam Pran sits between the dramatic limestone peaks of Khao Kalok and the warm, clear waters of the Gulf of Thailand. It is a three-hour drive south of Bangkok — close enough to reach with ease, far enough to feel entirely removed.
The area is known for its long, uncrowded beaches, its fresh seafood, and its unhurried pace of life. It is, in the truest sense, a place apart.
